Cow farts have been a topic of discussion during recent months. The claim being made is that cows produce massive amounts of methane gas and that this emission contributes to climate change, global warming, the greenhouse effect, or whatever you want to call it. The fact that cows and other livestock produce lots of methane gas cannot be disputed. That human activity results in lots of air pollution is also something that no one can reasonably doubt. The debate seems to be over to what extent climate change is actually occurring and whether or not humans have any actual impact on that phenomenon. Without definitive agreement on that issue, it's hard to know what if anything should be done about cows, livestock, cars, factories, etc. For that matter, people have a lot of pets and pets produce methane gas too and so if we're considering ways to reduce the amount of methane released into the atmosphere, maybe eliminating pets would be something that should be considered!
