It's no secret that about half of all marriages in the USA end in divorce. It should come as no surprise that the average intimate relationship lasts for only two years. To make matters worse the end of a relationship generally is not a pleasant affair. In fact, it can be quite traumatic. Why is it that so many relationships fail? Is it the case that monogamy is monotonous? Infidelity is the number one reason for couples breaking up. Estimates are that somewhere between twenty and forty percent of people cheat on their partner? It would seem that the odds are not in favor of long-term commitment. So, although Tom Jones once sang, "it's not unusual" to be in love, it's actually even less unusual to fall out of love, sad as that may seem. Ultimately, in a world where so many romantic relationships turn sour, it would seem that the best advice one could give to lovebirds all around the world is to BE PARANOID.
